  • Earth Science Regents - the New Part D Lab Practicum (Monday, November 19, Tuesday November 20, 2007 and January 3, 2008 (Snow date: January 4, 2007)
    Come and learn what the new Part D stations will look like, how to set them up and grade them, and what parallel activities you can use during the year to meaningfully prepare your students for success on this important part of the PS:ES exam. Presenters Steve Kluge and Rosemary Lee have received SED training to work with teachers across the region as they prepare for the new Part D.     About the presenter
    Steve Kluge has been teaching Earth Science and Physical Geology in New York State for 31 years. He is a frequent presenter at regional and national conferences, has contributed to the Journal of Geoscience Education and the Earth Scientist, and teaches the popular "Summer Seminar for Earth Science Teachers" at Purchase College, SUNY and SUNY Oneonta. With Dr. James Ebert at SUNY Oneonta, Steve co-founded the NY Coalition of the NSF sponsored Revolution in Earth and Space Science Education, and co-convened the group that developed DLESE's NY Instructional Collection. More recently Steve has directed two DLESE/NSF funded projects involving Google Earth in the geoscience classroom. In 2001, the Geological Society of America and the National Association of Geoscience Teachers recognized him with their Outstanding Earth Science Teacher award.
